What a year 2020 was!

Many of us would remember 2020 as the year of the COVID-19 pandemic!

I will remember it as the year of expanding my photography boundary. My preferred genre is landscape and cityscape. But with the lockdown (circuit breaker as Singapore called it), I was confined to home. Fortunately, I had acquired some home studio equipment - flashes, stands, gels, etc. and that prompted me to explore the interplay between light and shadow from the safety of home, to shoot macro, miniatures, bubbles, smoke, and anything that can be done at home. That included portraiture of my family members and of course, self portraiture.

Time at home also allowed me to learn photography online, from CreativeLive to Domestika, from Youtube channels to webinars. In short, COVID-19 allowed me to go beyond my comfort zone to explore portraiture, food and product photography, etc.

I also realize that I have been shooting people for some time - during my travels, in the street, or for friends. Hence people photography is a natural extension. And I continue to explore these genres when the economy started to open up and I could shoot outdoors, at studios, etc. That in essence, is the genesis of this wix page.

So at the end of 2020, it is only appropriate to look back and be grateful for the new avenues and doors that have opened.

Wishing all a Merry Christmas and Season's Greetings!
